Casio responds quickly to supply and demand changes

Since I continue to get asked about customer stories, I will continue to share best practices with some of the market leaders we work with.

Everyone knows Casio. When it comes to electronics, Casio is truly a global leader.

For a company with diverse products like Casio, it is critical to continually deliver cutting-edge products to meet demanding consumer needs. To do this Casio needs to ensure manufacturing efficiency and visibility of information across multiple departments and sites. They also have to constantly find opportunities to reduce supplier lead times so that products, especially new products, get to market faster.

Casio deployed a supply chain planning system from 1999-2002 to accomplish these goals. However, production lead times were still at an unacceptable level and inventory reduction was far below Casio’s targets. The system also failed to address changes in demand and supply effectively, so the users had to deal with these manually.

By deploying Response Management software, Casio empowered their staff with the information and tools necessary to respond quickly and accurately. Unlike traditional supply chain planning solutions, Response Management brings people into a collaborative and responsive process to quickly identifying and responding to change, while ensuring that each action aligns with corporate objectives. Casio has seen improvements in their key metrics as a result.
