Lengthy recovery times follow supply chain disruptions
Manufacturing Business Technology summarizes research done by Accenture about the impact of supply chain disruptions on business.
The research “found 73 percent of executives saw supply chain disruptions in the past five years. Of those, more than one-third (36 percent) say it took more than one month to recover, and 32 percent say it took between a week and a month to recover.”
The research goes on to say that many feel that such disruptions will increase in the coming years.
Whether they are large or small, disruptions happen all the time. I continue to believe that the difference between success and failure today is a function of who can respond the best to these disruptions. They are reality today and you have to empower your people to handle them when they happen.
