This is another in our series of interviews with Larry Lapide, MIT’s demand management research director. In this video, Larry discusses the effect of oil prices on the supply chain. Larry led a project at MIT on the supply chain of 2020 and the effect of oil and other commodity prices was a focal point of this research. They looked at the more general problem of supply chain risk management and how you need to be prepared to deal with any shock to the system when it occurs.
Larry also published an article on this topic in Supply Chain Management Review.
