I enjoyed the post and considered starting writing additional steps but yours are just about a classic by themselves.

Where did you come up with these. I have said for years I know I am in the correct occupation and cite the loading of the dishwasher as absolute proof ;-) I have also had the exact same thoughts regarding getting my boarding pass at the counter vs the kiosk. Very funny.

    Hi Bill,

I was wondering if you could provide advice on the best means to get a Lean Certification. There are some options out there but I don’t think there is one governing body or association responsible for awarding certifications. It appears in most cases as you complete the required coursework and successfully pass the test given by that organization you are awarded a certfication also by that organization.

I have lean implementation experience although it was some years ago and am now looking to refresh my skills but also lend credibility to my experience on my resume.

Thanks very much if you can provide advice.

P.S. To loading the diswasher I thought everyone did that. :-)

    Hi Lazar,

As you pointed out, unfortunately there does not seem to be one governing body like APICS. I received my training and certification when I was in manufacturing where we had some in house consultants along with some classes taken locally. There are a number of independent consultants that may be helpful and maybe you can find someone in your area. I would also check any universities that may be close. Lastly I would check out the American Society of Quality (ASQ). Their programs have been very well received. Apparently there are some quality issues loading the dishwasher that way! Cheers and good luck, Bill
